I was gazing out my bedroom window on an early fall morning and I noticed that everything seemed to be changing. The trees were changing colors, leaves were falling to the ground and blowing in every direction. Yet, there amongst all the commotion, was an evergreen tree, who did not seem to mind at all. There he stood-unchanging. Instantly, I thought, that’s how God is! When everything in life seems to be changing, fading away, uncertain…God remains there, standing tall, my unshakable shelter, always with me. He’s my evergreen. (Psalm 102:27, Hosea 14:8, Malachi 3:6, James 1:17,)
All my hope for harvest- is coming quickly to an end
As my autumn turns to winter- before my eyes again
My dreams – they all keep falling- like the leaves under my feet
Once so full of color- now they turned their back on me
But that’s not You- You’ve been there
Watching me through the breeze
You’re never fading –You’re never swaying with Your love for me
CHORUS:
You’re my Evergreen- You never fade away
Though the seasons change- Oh- You remain the same
Evergreen- I wanna climb You to the top
And see what I can see- ‘Cause You’re my- Evergreen
And now the sun shines through this forest- right through the naked trees
And the shadows keep on shifting- but they cast no spell on me
‘Cause You have been my Shelter- reviving all my dreams
And You’re bringing back their color- that I thought I’d never see
‘Cause that’s just You- You’ve been here- yes You have oh- Holding me in the breeze
You’re never fading–You’re never swaying with Your love for me
CHORUS
And I can’t stop the rain from pourin’ – no no no no no no
And I can’t stop the whirling wind- no no
And nothin’ can stop me from runnin’- no no no no no
Into Your arms again….. You never fade away
Though the seasons change- Oh-You remain the same
Evergreen- I wanna climb You to the top- No No- see what I can see
You’re my Evergreen- I say You never fade away
Oh You’re standing tall – through it all- with me
My Evergreen (I wanna climb You to the top- See what I can see- See what I can see)
Oh You’re mine- my Evergreen- my Evergreen |
